Looking good is not the desire only of women, even men want to look good even though traditionally men have been giving less importance to these aspects. The external appearance of a person is largely dependent upon the health of the skin. The health of skin has often been overlooked by men. Though the general health has a favorable bearing on the health of the skin also, it helps to take some time out for the basic needs of the skin.
The skin is exposed to environmental factors such as ultraviolet rays in the sun, pollutants and dirt. If proper care is not taken, these factors over a period to time, can lead to lusterless and prematurely ageing skin. "A routine skin care will go a long way in maintaining the health of the skin. A simple routine skin care would not take more than a few minutes from busy schedule but is sure to pay rich dividends
to the skin," says Dr. Subodh Sirur, Consultant Dermatologist
It must be remembered that it need not cost a fortune for a routine care of the skin and that expensive skin care and cosmetic products necessarily does not mean that they are good for your skin. "There are three simple steps for a routine skin care- cleanse, tone and moisturise. Cleansing involves the use of a mild cleanser for the removal of the dirt and the pollutants from the surface of the skin while retaining the moisture of the skin. Cleansing done more often than twice a day can cause more harm than good for the skin. Use of a gentle cleanser twice a day would be the key for the regimen to be effective. Frequent cleansing can cause more dryness in persons with dry skin and damage the skin. It may also cause more oiliness in person with oily skin as the glands tend to produce more oily secretion," says Dr Subodh
