As the old folks in the house suggest, eating heat inducing food can increase blood flow. Jaggery is one such item that will surely increase the blood flow because of the high iron content in it. To have a proper flow during periods, mix jaggery with some ginger, sesame seeds, a bit of haldi, some jeera and gulp or chew it down with a cup of warm water. Start doing this two- three days prior to the cycle date to avoid scanty blood flow.
