But the past few days were unbearable for many as the humidity levels soared along with high temperatures.On Monday, the heat index climbed to 52 degrees, the highest so far this year. The heat index, also known as the apparent temperature, is what the temperature feels like to the human body when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature, according to the National Weather Service.
