The most telling symptom of prosopagnosia is the inability to recognize and differentiate between both familiar and unfamiliar faces. It could make it challenging for people to form relationships, build bonds on both personal and professional fronts.
While those with minor prosopagnosia will only face difficulty in recognising faces of strangers, those with more moderate form of this disorder can struggle to identify faces of their close ones including family and friends.
In most severe cases, some may fail to recognize their own faces, which may cause social anxiety and depression.
